What is the best possible graphics card that I can get for my PC?
I have a Velocity Micro gaming PC with a 3 gb RAM, AMD Anthlon X2 64 processer, and 500 gb Hard Drive. And i think that it is about time i got a new graphics card and was wondering which graphics card would be the nest possible card withen a price range of $0 to $200.00 and more than 512 megabytes of video memory. It also must be able to play the new Aliens vs Predator game that is released on February 16 2010 with no problem what-so-ever.

I think things are cheaper in the USA but in the UK $200 wouldn’t get you one.

You forgot to tell us one very important thing. What is the wattage of your power supply? If it’s under 500W, get one that’s 500W. If it’s 500W or better, here’s your card:

Aliens vs Predator is a DirectX 11 capable game. So its better if you purchase a DirectX 11 capable graphics card.
Presently the graphics card market leader ATi has only DirectX 11 cards. NVIDIA has outdated cards.
And also you should mention the resolution of the monitor you are gaming on, because you are going to game in that resolution. Graphics cards are divided according to the resolution they best work in.
ATi 5670 1GB GDDR5 DX11 card.

The coolest graphics card which can run even on a 300watt power supply. Has DirectX11 support, runs every game in High settings in 1440×900 resolution. But DirectX 11 performance is not good. Half the performance of a ATi 5750, so it is not a recommended buy.
The best value for money card you can get is: ATi 5750 1GB GDDR5 DX11 card.

Runs all present and future games in Highest settings in 1680×1050 and 1920×1200 resolution. Power consumption is very low and also runs on a 400watt power supply. Most importantly DirectX 11 capable for future proof next-gen gaming. Slight overclocking brings it to same level as ATi 5770.

ATI 5770 1GB GDDR5 DX11 card.

Runs all present and future games in Highest settings in 1920×1200 resolution. Power consumption is low, but requires a 500 watt power supply. Most importantly DirectX 11 capable for future proof next-gen gaming.
What about NVIDIA you ask ? In case you didn’t notice, at the green side NVIDIA right now is on a DirectX 11 bashing marketing program. Their program goes like this: DX11 games won’t arrive until 2010 so why purchase a DX11 card ? Well, next year when a lot of games(10+) will start supporting DX11, you can rest assured that your card is compatible and that you are not stuck with an outdated DX10.0 class product. For your future game path, DX11 is an upgrade train you do not want to miss out on. Why is NVIDIA doing this ? Well, they just do not have their DX11 class products ready and selling on the market.
