i bought a collectable can which i dont want to open, but one guy said in about a year or so, the can will begin to leak and stuff. is this true? or how long can the drink stay in there/

Only if it is exposed to very high heat will it build up enough pressure to damage the can. A can of carbonated drink can last a very long time. I once pulled out a black cherry soda from a shed that hadn’t been opened in many years and it was just fine.

Yes but it does take a few years. I tried to save some before but they all ate through the cans.
Best to drain it from a small hole in the bottom.
